Snare agents

SNARE (System iNtrusion Analysis and Reporting Environment) is a series of agents for log data collection. The agents are used along with solutions for centralised capture and analysis of events - central event and log management - like Snare Server.

Snare agents are very popular and worldwide there are now installed several hundred thousand agents.

Snare agents for a wide range of systems
There are agents for Linux, UNIX, Solaris, Windows, AIX, IRIX, Squid, Tru64, Apache, Lotus Notes, MS IIS, MS ISA, MS Exchange and MS-SQL.

Both a free and a commercial version
Snare agents are available in two versions, an open source version which is free and an Enterprise version which is included with a Snare server or purchased as a stand-alone product. Enterprise versions have enhanced features compared to the open source versions. See a comparison of the two versions here.
